Social Media is no longer a photo sharing or video sharing or texts sharing app, it is totally different and has many more uses apart from personal use. We know how Social Media was a few years back and we have witnessed how we were using it but now it has changed completely. In today's world when people want to build their start up and when it comes to marketing for that startup then Social Media is the place to go and not only for the startups it is very useful but also for big companies and we are experiencing it everyday on how big companies are growing their business through Social Media.

Now I want to share my thoughts and opinions on how to grow on Social Media from scratch.

  • It is a Consistent Game: People make a humongous mistake thinking that they can grow on Social Media just like that but it is totally wrong, it is completely a consistent game. You might not get a response for over a year also for your Content, but you have to stay consistent and just focus on your work. Nobody was listening to Gary Vaynerchuk on his YouTube show for more than a year but he didn’t give up. Rather he stayed consistent and worked very hard and now he has built his empire on social media. So remember that no matter if you don’t get any results just be consistent and work hard and you will achieve in the long run
  • Document, Don't Create: When people start out on Content Creation they think that they should have access to very good resources to produce a good piece of content which is wrong and if you are depending to much on resources then you are Creating rather than Documenting meaning you are running behind Perfection and complaining. Whereas if you start to Document your Content you will just focus on creating content at scale with whatever resources you have and not worry about Perfection.
  • Think about Them and not You: People come to the Internet to find solutions to their problems or to entertain themselves so it is in our hand as Content Creators to provide it. So when you are creating content always focus on them i.e. always try to be consumer-centric and when you do this you will start to provide VALUE to the consumers which is the ultimate goal of the Content.
  • Focus on building your Community and not number of likes, shares etc: Getting the number of likes, shares etc is a short term gain and you can get it easily but this shouldn't be your goal because these people might just have liked your Content on a trending period of time or because of your friend's influence but at the end of the day they will not be loyal to your Content in the long run whereas if your goal is to build a healthy online community then even in the long run they will be loyal and only these people can bring revenue at the end. Remember having 100 Loyal Customers is better than having n numbers of fake followers.
  • Don't try to Feed your Content to the Algorithm: People at the beginning stages of Content Creation think that they have to read the whole algorithm of Social Media platforms and try to feed the algorithm with their Content in order to grow in it, which is a huge mistake. Look, Social Media is evolving each and every day and they will keep changing their algorithm and once if they change it then your Content is going to get vanished at once so rather than focusing on the Algorithm , focus on the Content which brings real Value to the people only then eventually you will build a healthy community and you will not have any problems even if they change the algorithm. But this doesn't mean that we have to completely ignore the algorithm, what I mean is that you have the algorithm in your strategy but prioritize Content over Algorithm.

Now if you have read this article so far you might think that I never spoke about Quality of the Content at all and here is where you have to think that as I said it is a consistent game so once if you are focused on being CONSISTENT then you will eventually learn about QUALITY. Always remember that Quality comes only when you produce more in Quantity.

If you are still reading this then thank you for stopping by . I hope I have provided as much VALUE as I can with this article
